Hey Coach: NESC rink requirements 11-7-2020

Per the guidance from the state please find the attached protocols and updated waivers for the New England Sports Center moving forward.

In addition, please note the following:

-          Only Massachusetts teams and Massachusetts residents are allowed in the facility.

-          Coaches need to enter the rink with their full team. Parents/guardians and siblings may follow the team in after signing the waiver.

-          MASKS ON AT ALL TIMES FOR ALL PARTIES THAT ENTER THE FACILITY.

-          Please tell players not to dress/undress in the parking lot. They must come dressed aside from skates, gloves and helmets.

-          Please send us accurate rosters with players, towns of residence and phone numbers for contact tracing as soon as possible.

-          Teams must exit the rink immediately following the conclusion of their game. Take skates, helmets and gloves off at the benches in the hallways – NOT in the rinks and then proceed to the exits within 10 minutes. Arrive. Play. Leave.

Thank you for your cooperation during these crazy times and we look forward to getting everyone back on the ice!

Hey Coach: face coverings

Hope all is well.

As we complete week 4 of the PHL season, we were once again reminded of the many covid scenarios that surround all families and impact both practices and games. Game cancellations can occur from a myriad of scenarios, not always as a result of a positive test.  The PHL has had game cancellations EVERY weekend, some of which have directly impacted our teams.

Please remind your teams that face coverings are mandatory, they are not optional. They should be worn at all times when in the rink, they should be worn in the locker rooms, on the bench by all players and coaches and for centers/forwards that may be taking facoffs and all spectators.  We may not like wearing them or want to wear them but for everyone's best interest it is imperitive they are worn.

Anyone not in compliance with the mask policy will be suspended for 7 days.

Lead by example, wear your mask!!

Thank you
CMO

Hey Coach: player stats

If you are interested in recording player stats the CMO website allows for that information to be entered game by game.  The results are only viewable by the

coaching staff.

Once the game score has been entered you can enter player stats.  Log into the website then clicking on team, results then select the gray stats button on the right side of the line.

The reporting will allow you to track the following information

  • player attendance
  • shots
  • goals
  • assists
  • +/-
  • penalty minutes
  • checks by player and game

The teams that are using this function are very happy with the output.  This information can be helpful for mid-year and year end player evals.

Player stats are NOT maintained by the league or CMO, they will only be record by the Coach if they choose to do so.

Hey Coach: Crew app

Everyone should have received a text invite to the coach/manager Crew app about a week ago.  I am using this with another hockey program and it seems to work out nicely.  It's a way to quickly get messages out to you or ask questions.   The app works across all phone platforms and will sync to desktop version.  this is super helful for me when I am trying to do hockey work at real work ;)
