OFF-ICE TRAINING AND ASSESSMENT PROGRAM FOR COMING SEASON
OUTLAWS ANNOUNCE OFF-ICE TRAINING AND ASSESSMENT PROGRAM FOR COMING SEASON
The Central Mass Outlaws have announced a partnership with NorthEast Sports Training to create a revolutionary off-ice strength and conditioning program for the coming year.
The program will be overseen by Mike Macchioni, who has worked with professional and college athletes for more than 20 years. Macchioni has partnered with the Boston Bruins and Providence College hockey team in the past and is widely regarded as one of the top sports performance coaches in the sport.
Beginning at this year’s tryouts, NEST will oversee Combine-like sessions to establish baselines that will allow coaches to measure improvements and establish appropriate strength and conditioning goals for the coming year. And that’s only the beginning!
Every 12 weeks the NEST strength and conditioning staff will meet with teams to re-test all players to check on progress, update programs, and re-incentivize players and teams to continue following off-ice training protocols.
In addition to team-specific training, all players will be provided with an individual report that will highlight strengths and areas for improvement while comparing them to players in the program and in the region. All programs and testing will be age appropriate, intended to help players at all ages and skill levels.
This program will be provided at no extra charge to all players next season, and will be run at the New England Sports Center (the home facility of the Outlaws.
We are thrilled to offer this cutting-edge training program to all Outlaw players, and look forward to watching skaters on all teams improve through this program in the years to come.
