FIRST DAY TIME CHANGE! 8:30AM ON 12/14
To our new families, WELCOME! To returning families, WELCOME BACK! My name is Kassandra Nielsen, and I will be heading up our Learn To Skate and Learn To Play Hockey programs again this session. So much fun ahead!
Our classes will be at 12:00 noon on Sundays, with the exception of our first day. Bright and early at 8:30 tomorrow! Occasionally, due to the schedules of multiple teams using the Pomfret School rink, we do have to shift our time slot, so stay tuned.
Equipment for Learn To Play is full hockey equipment. There is a graphic on the Outlaws website if you are unsure.
STICKS:
Your child will need a stick. A hockey stick should be cut to about chin length on skates, which is between the lip and nose in street shoes. Don't be tempted to leave much growing room in terms of height, because this creates poor skating form.
LEFT OR RIGHT? It depends! The left or right curve of a stick is NOT determined by left or right handedness. It's best to let your child experiment and see which side feels more comfortable. If they can't decide, start with a straight blade that can be used either way.
